About the Position

The National Research Foundation (NRF) supports and promotes research and human capital development through funding, the provision of National Research Facilities and science outreach platforms and programmes to the broader community in all fields of science and technology, including natural science , engineering, social science and humanities.

The organization seeks to appoint an Executive Assistant to the Executive Director: Human and Infrastructure Capacity Development (HICD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • General office administration
  • Office financial monitoring and administration
  • Managing the Executive Director's diary
  • Maintaining an accurate a filing and document management system
  • Supporting the directorate in the implementation of projects in a matrix environment
  • Organising and coordinating workshops and meetings
  • Undertaking all travel arrangements both locally and abroad
  • Taking minutes, word processing and formatting of documents
  • Handling and processing communication to the office (e.g. e-mail, telephone, fax, mail)
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain a library of information in the office
  • Sourcing and compiling information

Key Requirements:

  • Matric with professional secretarial or equivalent qualification
  • At least four years proven experience, in all aspects of professional office administration, organisation and management
  • Experience as an Executive Assistant at senior level will be an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven competency in the use of MS Office suite, particularly with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Financial administration skills
