About the Position

Post-Doctoral Researcher: Radiobiology (2 year contract)


The main function of this position will be to perform radiobiology research relevant to modern particle therapy by implementing relevant molecular methods and developing new assays to evaluate functional biological endpoints.

Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in Radiobiology, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, or related Sciences;
  • Minimum four (4) years' work experience in radiation biology and/or translational radiation research projects
  • Proven record of lab experience (e.g. western blotting, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetic techniques)
  • Track record of student supervision and grant application


  • Previous experience in particle radiobiology and/or biological experience at an accelerator-based facility will be seen as an asset
  • Experience in stem cell research

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • You are in charge of the development and implementation of new radiobiology techniques to evaluate complex biological endpoints (e.g. metastasis, angiogenesis...)
  • You are responsible for radiobiology experiments with particle beams in close collaboration with the Medical Physics Section
  • Participation in Biodosimetry
  • Support and liaison with national and international users of the facility
  • Supervise radiobiology research projects of postgraduate students
